As a site of pilgrimage for nearly seven centuries, the Dečani church has continually received offerings, resulting in an exceptionally valuable treasury. This collection is resplendent with the beauty of ancient icons, intricately inlaid wooden furniture, exquisitely adorned liturgical artifacts, and a wealth of manuscripts and printed books. In terms of artistic, cultural, and historical significance, the Dečani treasury stands second only to that of Chilandar in Mount Athos (Greece) among the treasuries of Serbian cultural heritage.
